Reflections on a Silver Ball
Ricardo Moraga Lucero, GHS Class of 1949

Ricardo Moraga Lucero (Ric) was born and raised in Globe, Arizona, the setting for many of his poems. At age 17, he left to join the U.S. Navy serving in the Korean war. Working with Naval Intelligence, he learned to speak several languages.

After spending nine years in the Navy, Ric returned home to attend Arizona State University where he earned a degree in Political Science. He taught conversational Spanish and Mexican-American history and cultural awareness at the community college level.

His poems reflect his love and understanding of the Mexican-American people. He had intense feelings about being American and feels fortunate that he lived a bi-cultural existence with ease.

You will find some of Ricardo's work here on these pages. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have, and that they help you recall fond memories of bygone days of the Globe-Miami area.
